What We Do

Established in 1987, Gillian Radford & Co is a specialist legal practice, concentrating on family law, childcare law and housing law. Within family law, we specialize in relationship breakdown, divorce and financial matters, domestic abuse and civil partnerships. Within childcare law, we cover all areas of children law including both public law and private law and international child abduction law and within housing law; we focus on tenants, the homeless and those threatened with homelessness. Here at Gillian Radford & Co, we provide a variety of other services, including the drafting of wills and probate.

We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to all our clients. The nature of many of our cases means we are dealing with very personal issues on a daily basis, and we aim to handle these with sensitivity and professionalism. We appreciate that, for many clients, this is a very stressful time and our aim is to minimize this stress by delivering the most positive outcome we can. If there is a case where we are unable to speak the required language, we will arrange for an interpreter to be present.

In 2000, the Legal Services Commission (now the Legal Aid Agency) granted us a franchise in Housing and Family Law, allowing us to work in partnership with them to ensure that no one is denied justice simply because they cannot afford it. In addition, we have the Lexcel accreditation which means that we deliver work and services to a very high standard which is monitored on a yearly basis.

We are members of the Family Law Panel and the Advanced Family Law Panel. We are also accredited specialist members of Resolution. Being panel members allows us to keep up to date with the latest developments. We are on the International Child Abduction Unit’s panel of solicitors.
